Penguin-Secured: 6 Tips to Make Your Link Building Strategy Rule!

Since its release in April 2012 this algorithm they dubbed as “Google Penguin” have put together tighter guidelines for website optimization in order to avoid numerous spam factors such as content spinning, cloaking, stuffing keywords, and more.

Google Penguin basically penalizes the websites engaging in over-optimization with their link building strategies. This fight against black hat SEO left countless websites from around the world to experience major drops in traffic from their previously high rankings.

How to increase your page rank

This is a common question among webmasters, especially after the Penguin Update (For more info on the update click here) on the 24 of April. until then it was pretty easy to get a high page rank; a well organized link building  strategy was enough. After the latest page rank update though, a few days after the Penguin update was released, a lot of major popular websites saw their PR decrease and many new ones gained a pretty high one.

Is this an algorithm bug, or just a new SEO generation? Although many webmasters complain about these unfair (for most) changes, Matt Cutts haven’t made any announcements yet unfortunately in my opinion are here to stay.

Penguin update is confirmed

If you noticed that your site’s organic traffic has left after the 24th of April, then you are probably hit by Google’s Penguin update, which is now fully functioning and live.

“Penguin” update is the official name of the known “webspam update” or “over-optimization penalty” update which Matt Cutts had pre-announced almost two months ago.

What is Penguin update?

This is simply an algorithm update which penalizes black hat SEO techniques. According to Google, sites that use white hat SEO strategies and focus on great unique content creation and on the improvement of their usability and visibility will not be hurt at all. This update will penalize sites that use black hat SEO techniques and shortcuts with the purpose to manipulate SERPs.
